Työskentelyni perustuu materiaalien ja tekniikoiden vuoropuheluun. Yhdistän öljyvärejä, kollaasia ja moniväristä fotopolymeerigrafiikkaa, joissa maalauksen jälki ja grafiikan kerroksellisuus sulautuvat yhteen. Jokainen teos on osa jatkuvaa tutkimusmatkaa, jossa työvaiheet synnyttävät uusia oivalluksia ja suuntia.
Teoksissani tutkin rajojen hälventymistä sekä luonnon, kulttuurien ja mytologioiden kohtaamista. Muistot matkoilta Tiibetistä, Intiasta, Islannista ja Afrikasta, suomalainen luonto sekä myyttiset voimaeläimet rakentavat maailmoja, joissa eläimet, hahmot ja tarinat liikkuvat vapaasti todellisuudesta toiseen. Kaiken työskentelyni ytimessä on löytämisen ilo ja jatkuva uudistuminen, jonka haluan välittää myös katsojalle.
Työskentelen Suomen Taiteilijaseuran Vallilan taiteilijatalossa, aiemmin myös Ranskassa, Saksassa ja Italiassa. Olen opiskellut Kuvataideakatemiassa ja Pariisin taideakatemiassa École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Artsissa. Teoksiani kuuluu useisiin julkisiin taidemuseoiden ja kaupunkien kokoelmiin, ja olen Suomen Taidegraafikot ry:n, Taidemaalariliiton ja Helsingin Taiteilijaseuran jäsen.
My work is based on a dialogue between materials and techniques. I combine oil paints, collage, and multicolored photopolymer gravure, allowing the painterly mark and the layered nature of printmaking to fuse together. Each piece is part of an ongoing journey of discovery, where the stages of the process spark new insights and directions. In my artwork, I explore the blurring of boundaries and the intersection of nature, cultures, and mythologies. Memories of my travels to Tibet, India, Iceland, and Africa, along with Finnish nature and mythical power animals, build worlds where animals, figures, and stories move freely from one reality to another. At the heart of all my work is the joy of discovery and continuous renewal, which I also wish to convey to the viewer. I work at the Artists’ Association of Finland’s Vallila Artists’ House, having previously also worked in France, Germany, and Italy. I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. My works are included in several public collections of art museums and cities, and I am a member of the Association of Finnish Printmakers, the Finnish Painters’ Union, and the Helsinki Artists’ Association.
